I am travelling to France later this month and I needed a new carry-on. I made this one from upholstery ends and a black leather jacket. I tried to incorporate all the features that I like in a bag so I have a shoulder strap as well as padded handles. Pockets on the exterior and interior. Not sure if I have the right shape or size, but the trip will be the test.

Christine,
ROOTS should be worried. Your carry on bag is equally as beautiful inside and out. I have found the more pockets with specific purpose the better. For instance, my LUG travel purse has one for sunglasses, passport folder (this is particularly handy in airports) and a small one for luggage keys, etc. An outside zippered pocket for the passport folder avoids opening up the rest of the bag. Will you be using this one for your touring bag?
You continue to amaze me…June

I love it! ….and I’m so glad that you posted a picture — I was very curious after seeing your sketch yesterday, so thanks for responding to my telepathic message 😀
The only downside: I don’t think there is enough room inside for me to tag along on your trip to France with you….

I just finished writing you a gushy comment and lost it somewhere in the blogosphere.
But that bag is amazing!!! I want one, so if you find on your travels (colour me jealous of the France jaunt) that it is the “just right” bag, I’ll be first in line to buy one when you go into production. It looks like the one I’ve been searching for for a long time.
Thanks for your nice comment – fingers crossed I will be teaching a week-long hooking from photos class at Trent next year. I’ve heard from a few folks who picked it as their first choice from the Show Cases.
Have a bon voyage!!
