glories of green mountain rug school

June 13, 2011 by Birdbrain 3 Comments

I’ve just returned from a week at Green Mountain Rug School–a glorious place.  Above is a shot from Jule Marie Smith’s classroom.  Below a peek at the gardens that are everywhere, including Suzanne Dirmaier’s gorgeous rug.  I have many photos of rugs to post and will do so soon.

Welcome back. I think the “after glow” of rug school is one of the best parts. It takes a while to waft back down to earth, doesn’t it?

Wow, the background in that bottom rug is incredible – as are all your pictures. I’m looking forward to seeing more.

Also LOVE the mittens in the sidebar photos – did you make those?

    Hi Wendie
Good to hear from you! I’m spending the day putting away new wool (yikes!) and sorting through photos. It is very pleasant. There were many incredible rugs at Green Mountain and I will be posting more. I had my new ipad with me and hoped to do it from there, but alas no time to learn about the apps etc. Next time!

Yes, I make the mittens out of repurposed sweaters and line them with 100% woollen scarves. They are great fun to make.
