My son often starts the day off on the St. Lawrence on his surf board (even a sprained ankle doesn’t stop him–he just modifies!) The pictures taken by his friend are beautiful. Here on dry land, I am struggling with chair seat #3. This happens to me sometimes–the hooking takes over and starts to boss me. This piece is very temperamental, demanding this, rejecting that, and being satisfied with none of my attempts. Yesterday at our hooking gathering, several suggested I pull out one of my trees — which I did. Last night I rehooked part of the sky. I tell myself it’s only a sample — relax, you are learning. But it sits on the stand clamouring for attention–and it’s hard not to listen. I am trying to ignore it for a while and instead take inspiration from those amazing waves.

Congratulations,Christine! MaryAnne Keast just sent me your blog’s address and I was delighted to read it.
You are so creative! I love your designs.
You would not believe that I think often of you.We still have two of the very first table mats you made as well as a Christmas runner which is displayed every December. In our very old house in the Cevennes mountains there is also a small weaving of yours on the entrance wall. So you see you are with us all the time!
How time flies! I was amazed to read that Owen is getting married. Mind you,Jean-Christophe and Barbara have a 17 year old son,Nicolas, and a 15 year old daughter,Alicia. They come and visit us in France in the summer as we have been permanent residents near Nice since 2008.
Dominique and Catherine live on Vancouver Island and visit us in September usually.
They are all very well and so are we so we make the most of it. Graham and I love the mediterranean climate.
Hope to hear from you!
