This time a message from the school, Metangwe Primary. The grade 6 class at Park Dale School in Belleville Ontario sent letters to the grade 6 class in Matangwe. Below you will see the students opening the letters. Inside they not only found a note from Canada, but also drawings and a hand-made colourful bracelet. You will also see teacher Jackie giving them some help. Matangwe students say THANK YOU PARK DALE!

We are so excited that we were able to talk to Teacher Christine in Kenya with Joseph the principal and Teacher Jackie!! We loved seeing the pictures of the students reading our letters and seeing them wear the bracelets we made for them! One of our students saw her drawing and pen pal…very exciting and a great connection. We can’t wait for your letters to make it to us so we can learn all about you! It was nice to hear how warm it is in Kenya compared to how cold it is here. Enjoy the rest of your trip Christine and we can’t wait to see you back for a visit and to hear all the stories! From Mrs. Lee and 6L

The letters are all ready for Canada. We hope that you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed reading yours. With the letters and the video we all have a much better idea about Canada. We especially loved the snow!
Thanks again for your gifts and your letters.

It was indeed a pleasure to speak with Joseph, Christine and Jackie. Our students loved hearing the voices behind the names. We will absolutely have to get the technology to work for us so that we can talk in real time with a face to face opportunity, I will work on that for our next voyage… To all the students in Mantangwe, we are so lucky to have had to opportunity to get to know you, and continue our partnership. It brings me great joy and pride as a Principal, as well as a mom. Thank you….. Stacey
