I have decided to set up at Etsy store to sell my leather and canvas goods. I hope that this will happen early next week. To celebrate this event, a large step for me, I have decided, following the example of my mentor and friend Arounna, to have a give-away. Please leave me a comment, telling me which products you would like to see in the Etsy store and I will randomly select a winner next Friday August 26th. You may have to scroll back to look at the canvas and leather totes, pouches and bags to see what I could possibly make for the Etsy site. The winner will receive this adorable little pouch.

You know i love them all. Xine, your leather bags are to to die for. It would be my pleasure to carry any one of these over my shoulder.
I did order one of your small pouches to hold my camera and I can not tell you how many people have commented on how charming it is. One simple request …if there is any way to attach a small loop to one of the side seams it then is able to hang aroung my neck with my camera inside…I feel certain it will garner more compliments and conversations.
All the best and keep your creativity flowing.

Christine, I think the story idea is great! I would love to see all of your products up on your store. I especially like your screened pouches with the birds. I think small pouches would sell well but I also really like your new teal leather bag. I am a big fan of simple bags – saddle bags etc. I like the felted pouches too but again – the birds really do it for me.
Best of luck with this,
Gail

I really enjoy looking at all of your created pieces – they are wonderful! I have even passed on this site to friends to have a peek at.
I really like the “blueberry” bag from your Aug. 16th post – but I also enjoy the little pouches – too much fun.
Keep creating!

Hi Christine,
I think for uttter “uniqueness” and wow factor, the hooked bags with the leather details are superb!

How exciting, Christine! I’m so glad you’ll have an Etsy store. I had fun scrolling back to look at your beautiful creations. My favourites are your leather purses. I love the new teal bag, and it’s “grape” sister (too bad it’s already well loved,) your turquoise/purple lined purse that you took to France, and Espresso. Like you, I like to wear bags over one shoulder and across the body. Your carry-on black leather bag was amazing and obviously very strong as I witnessed how much you packed into it!!! The screened bird bags are also adorable…perfect for art supplies.
Good luck with the new venture!

The leather bags for sure, especially that gorgeous ‘sunshine tote’! And the little travel items you recently created for your trip to France. And of course, the bird-designed pouches. Everything is totally appealing and your colour choices are wonderful!

It’s great to hear about your new etsy venture — it’s on my list of things to do this Fall…..and now I will know who to come to for help! 😀

Hi Xine
I think that you would be able to sell everything you make in the etsy store! I know that I would buy the canvas totes, I love the bird design and I really like the leather bottom on the totes I also like the pouches for storing cords as I find I often forget my many different cords when heading to cottage or going on a trip. I also think your leather bags would sell well! Can’t wait to see your etsy store!. Good Luck on the new venture!

It is difficult to choose a favorite piece with so many gems, but I will go ahead and say that the grape bag with turquoise lining is a top fav. The size, pockets and colour make it ideal for everyday use!
I also love the felt cases for different electronic items. I have a felt glasses holder which is great, and you could even make a pouch for a hair straighener since they tent to travel with woman (and you could put the straightener in the felt while it was still warm). I love the blog!

How exciting to become an easy-ite!
I think you should put everything out there – different people love different things, so you won’t know till you try.
I will personally be licking my screen over the leather bags – and the combo hooked/leather. But that’s just me.
You go girl!

Between Etsy and a few shows this fall, I think you’ll be busy on the new machine!

Congratulations on your store! I can’t wait to shop!
I agree with some of the others, it would be wonderful to see absolutely everything. One of my favourites is in your photos and it looks like a soft black leather with a long strap and some colourful hooking. Wow. It’s absolutely gorgeous. The combination is so unique!
Additionally, I just love the bird designs on everything as they are just adorable and so wimsical . It would be very difficult to pick just one favourite piece!
Congrats again and keep up the amazing work!
By the way, I just had time to catch up on your blog and I can’t tell you how much I am yearning to visit the South of France. Perhaps in the next year or two I will take a trip myself!

Fabulous stuff, Christine! If you forced me to choose two, I guess the leather blueberry bag and the canvas/leather tote that you used to hold Carissa’s presents would be the ones. I can almost hear that naughty bird’s squawk!
Have you ever considered making a mother’s bag that would have a holder for a bottle, a compartment for a couple of diapers, a soother etc. ? Sure would beat some of the ugly plastic jobs out there. Wouldn’t it be grand to see a mother bird with a few babies following behind?
A clutch purse for going to the symphony or opera with “musical” birds might be fun, too!
Love your bold colours. Lime and lemon with grape is a particular fav. combination of mine. I’m mega proud of you.

Christine,
All your work is so beautiful! I always love seeing what pieces you’ve made for Anne, and I wear my sweater mittens whenever it’s chilly. 🙂 So really, seeing everything in the Etsy store would be perfect… but since that’s not very specific or helpful, I particularly love the turquoise leather bag and the colourful striped leather bag (both a few posts down). They’re very lovely!

Your beautiful orange and purple bag demonstrates your fearlessness with colour. It is a show stopper – so vibrant. Although no one is thinking about it right now – don’t forget to include your beautiful mitts in your store.
So proud to be your friend!

Your bold colour combinations, touches of whimsy, and strong dose of functionality appeal to me. I hate making decisions . . . I like it all!

Hi Christine,
Thanks for the nudge – I enjoyed revisiting your blog. While in Newfoundland earlier this month, I thought of you of whenever I came across some of the local rug hooking. I was particularly taken with the story-telling component of their work. I love the “blueberry bag” but the fabulous colours of the canvas pieces might show better on Etsy.

Your work is over brimming with the energy and creativity you have flowing ever so freely now. Pair that with your superb attention to detail and workmanship and WOW!

Hi Christine – just had a quick walk through the latest blogs on your site. Your sense of colour and creativity and your ability to bring new life to fabric and leather is delightful. I cant wait to see what you are going to do with the “birds in boots” image from your travels in France. Just imagine how you could use your shoe collection to adorn the birds on your bags…………looking forward to a much more leisurely stroll through your blog when I get back from my travels. You are amazing!
Erin
Hi, I found your blog through a co-worker. Your stuff is great, especially the recycled leather items. Good luck with your store!
Carol
Christine,
Anything with your fabulous screened fabrics .. . especially totes for carrying cameras and lenses, etc. As well, your leather bags (love the Sunshine tote). I love anything with whimsical birds . . .would be great to see a line (totes, pouches, etc) with ‘the bird wearing red boots’!
Unfortunately, I can’t make the October workshop . . .will you be offering more workshops in the Toronto area?
Caryn Phoenix-Renz
Christine, sooo hard to choose. I love the leather but the Catalan fabric is so eye catching! I know all of them will fly off the virtual counter!!! Great colours. Best of luck and I’ll bet you’ll be busy! Caryn

Christine, I am a fan of all of your creations. You have a wonderful sense of colour, texture, proportion, whimsy and practicality!
Best of luck on Etsy.

Your bags are wonderful! Please put some up for sale! The canvas/ leather ones are so unique and practical! The leather ones are also fabulous. Pouches of course- how else do you keep what’s in those beautiful bags organized? You clearly have a well developed style, ao I think you should just play and have fun with whatever you want to make. I’m quite confident we will happily buy it!
