I took all 23 pounds of Fireworks to my local dry cleaners to have it steamed. And now it is in place in our house. We have to figure how and where to hang this 6.5’x4.5′ plus rug to photograph it properly. The only suitable large plain wall seems to be the back of the garage! So stay tuned for that. In the meantime, I am hoping the tiny bumps along the one side smooth out, now that is in its final resting spot–if not it will be time for a little more steam.

Congratulations Chris – it is beautiful. So much quiet activity in the points around the border. I’m sure you see something every time you look and different things in the room will bring out different colours. You and Jenn are masters of the bigger works, and I do have a huge piece of backing that isn’t making any progress on the printed side. Perhaps I need to flip it over and design my own thing…..getting away from the “instant gratification projects”. Thanks for the inspiration.

Thanks Wendie–so nice to hear from you! I heartily encourage you to flip your backing over and draw your own large design. You learn so much from the planning and then the inevitable ‘winging it’ as things don’t turn out as expected. And you develop quite a long-term relationship with a large rug–I am happy to see it on the floor, but I do miss it too!

Wow, I love this. It is very inspiring.
I hope this is not in a high traffic area because if it was mine I would encourage everyone to walk around it 🙂 !
