This darling girl is our new daughter, Carissa. You see her here with another of the family’s treasures, my 91 year old mother, Morrison. We all feel so lucky to have this young woman in our lives. This afternoon I am going to a shower for Carissa. Below are her presents.
I made the apron and I’ve posted before about Heidi’s cookbook. (Btw, today’s blog recipe for quinoa, currant, dill and zuccchini looks amazing!) Also pictured is a peanut butter knife from Combermere and an icing spreader from Toyls of Labur, a small shop in Warkworth which sells goods from firms which have a long history. This icing spreader is made by a US firm, Lamson and Goodnow, which dates back to before the Civil War.
And here is how I wrapped everything up:

My goodness Combermere….would you believe Dave and I honeymooned at a cottage there! There were no crafty wood carvers there 40 years ago. I am sure that Carissa will love all of these goodies.
cheers

Love the fabric you used for the apron xine. I am sure Carissa loved her gift. Love the picture of her with your mom. I am totally amazed at all the projects you are doing. They really are gorgeous!!

I am SO lucky to have the BEST new Mom & Dad! You are both so great to me and I look forward to becoming a Bird =)
The gifts are fantastic. The bag is on display at our house and my friends (guys and girls alike), just love it! The apron is perfect as well. I have been wanting an apron for a while and I am so glad I held out. There is no apron that could top this one.
Owen and I have also found a good home for the natural cooking cookbook – right on the kitchen counter XOX

How lucky am I to be here with Deb Walker? She showed me this site. Six degrees of separation…….happy to see the picture of Aunt Morrison. Hope you are all well.

being Carissa’s Aunt I can say that everyone at Carissa’s shower loved her gifts. As we in our family already know Carissa is the most wonderful young person anyone could want in their family and I know she is very excited about becoming Owen’s partner for life. We think we are very lucky as well to be gainig a wonderful young man in our family. We all love Owen.
