I haven’t shared an Annie progress picture for a few weeks. And this will be the last one showing hooking progress. By typing Annie in the search box on the top right you can follow the progress from the start in Wendie Scott Davis’ class in July 2013. I’ll be taking another class with Wendie this July and starting a new project–but more on that in another post. So, two more dark circles and a little more background and I’ll be ready to start whipping. Annie is 5’x7′, so the whipping may take as long as it took to hook the rug–but I hope not!! Below is the lovely hand-dyed wool I bought from Red Maple Ruggery to do the whipping.

Lovely all these (slightly different) light blues !!!
That hand dyed wool matches so beautifully !!!
(just seen a tutorial about this edge …. a lot of work !)
Amazing your leather work ! (needs a special machine !)
Missed the little rugs from April : so lovely ! The one
with all the flowers I love most !

Hello Els,
So great to hear from you. Thanks for your comments on the rug. And my machine for leather–yes it is an industrial machine. I couldn’t sew leather, especially the heavy leather of a laptop bag, without it.
stay in touch

Oh, I’ll be anxious to see your finished “Annie”. It’s such a lovely rug. I’m one of those people who enjoys the whipping of the rug after the hooking is finished but yes, yours is a particularly large rug! I’ll also be interested to see what your next “Wendie” project is, too.

Hi Jill
You aren’t by any chance in Wendie’s class as well, are you? There are still spots if you are interested. She is such an inspiration.
thanks for your comments and your interest

No, I’m not in Wendie’s class, Christine, although I know she’s an inspiration. I’ve taken a couple/few classes with her and learn so much each time, not to mention the fun one has in her classes! I’m in the process of starting a new, large-ish rug so that’s my focus at the moment. That’s enough of a challenge for me right now.

I love seeing the progress.
